This pub was established by 1867. It was demolished and rebuilt further back from Albert Road in the 1960s. The Henley remains open and once a month hosts a social evening for retired Tate and Lyle workers.
Rest in Peace Ronnie Kullar, the landlord, who passed away in 2018. His portrait was painted in 2015 by royal painter Andrew Festings. You can see it at the link below open on page 7, or on the pub sign itself.
